VENUE
A beautiful estate that extends over 800 hectares encompassing hills, forests, fields, and a lake in addition to numerous elegantly restored and furnished farmhouses around an old abbey, which dates back to the year 1085.
Located south of Siena along an old pilgrim route towards Rome, the abbey was founded by Vallombrosian Benedictine monks and was the scene of a rich history of events because of its strategic position. A thousand years of silence, gentle footsteps, meditation, and prayer bestow a special aura upon this place.
CEREMONY
Inside the abbey, there is a consecrated church where religious wedding ceremonies may be performed in the Catholic rite or other denominations. The church is a little white gem, which shines with its elegant simplicity and represents the ideal setting for an intimate and romantic wedding. It can seat up to 130 people while there is standing room for another 20 for a total of 150 guests.
Civile and symbolic ceremonies (blessings, renewal of vows) can be held in one of the numerous gardens within the abbey like the charming Arometo in the expansive field with a view of the magnificent hills of the Orcia Valley.
RECEPTION
The structure offers infinite possibilities both inside and out for a spectacular reception. There is the choice between cocktails outside in the garden or in the beautiful cellar. A seated reception can be held in the large spaces outside under the trees or tents and gazebos. During cooler months, guests can be served dinner in the beautiful chapter hall of the abbey.
For a smaller wedding, a reception can be organized in one of the farmhouses, which can host banquets (for up to 70 guests) both inside and outside.
Maximum number of guests outside: 200
Maximum number of guests inside: 90 in the same room, up to 180 using adjoining rooms
Music & dancing: The large convention hall can serve as a ballroom while up to 70 guests can dance in the unique aviary
ACCOMMODATION
The estate can host around 90 guests, in the main buildings and the farmhouses, which have been tastefully restored and furnished with all the creature comforts. In each of the structures, ample common areas make for a comfortable atmosphere. Each room has its own bathroom.
The décor of the rooms harmoniously unites antique and contemporary design. The rooms are all personalized and different from each other, purposely giving the sensation of staying at a friend’s home.
Each farmhouse is equipped with a private pool, which is open from May 15 to October 15.
Breakfast is served in the abbey, guestrooms, and each farmhouse where guests are staying. From the early hours of the morning, the kitchen of the abbey is a bustle of activity making little biscuits and homemade sweets for the coffee break, cakes for afternoon tea, lunch, cocktails, dinner, and gala dinners. Traditional dishes and historical recipes are served according to what is in season. Jams and preserves are made from the fruit of the trees on the estate, the pasta is handmade, breads, little focaccia, and roasts often bake in the wood-burning oven, the extra-virgin olive oil comes from the estate, and the salami that is served is of the Cinta Senese pig, which were raised with utmost care.
